Hi!
Ran in the Hayling 10 a couple of weeks ago. I've ran 15 races in
2010 (my first year of running)... and this was easily the best!
Brilliant route, amazing marshals, fab facilities, and a great atmosphere amongst
the runners. Both hubby and myself went home buzzing!
Thanks and see u next year.

Dear Havant AC
Thank you so much to the organisers, marshalls and helpers who made the Hayling 10 such a good race. The weather was frightful but it is, I'm sure, much easier to run than to stand in the weather. Everyone was so encouraging and cheerful that we shall definitely be back next year.
Thank you again - you are real heroes.

Hi,
I just wanted to congratulate and say a big thank you to those who organised yesterday's
race - the weather certainly added a 'certain something' to proceedings and I will not
forget being lifted along by the wind just before reaching Beachlands -
the course I found was very good despite not being able to see a 3 mile marker and
thinking that it seemed a long way between 2 and 3 miles.
Many thanks once again and I look forward to taking part again next year,
Paul Meades
Race no 84
I thought it was a really good course. If only the weather had been better! Flat and scenic; I am sure I would have done a pb and really enjoyed the race but the conditions were just so unpleasant; what a shame. The marshalls were fantastic! So encouraging and positive, although they must have been freezing as well. A big thank you to them and I will be recommending the race to the rest of my club, Fareham Crusaders, for next year.

Dear Sir (or Madam!)
Just wanted to congratulate you on the event last week. I travelled from South Wales after the X Country I had lined up was cancelled due to the conditions & I was not disapointed to have done so. The previous week I had run another 10 mile road race in a wet hilly mid Wales & come close enough to believe that on a flatter course on a day with better conditions I could take the Club record for 10 miles for my age category 50-55. Having lived in Portsmouth as a teenager for a few years I knew Hayling Island to be flat....& potentially windy.
On the day the weather was far from ideal with a very strong, gusting (mostly) side wind, given the location, the route, even as far as the wind goes was good, in that it is always likely to be coming from the sea & is going to be mainly a side wind or behind at some point along the front as we ran in both directions a similar distance.I do not notice scenery too much in a race as I am just not that kind of runner, however I notice it enough to know it was interesting, diverse & particularly on Hayling Billy line beautiful across Langstone Harbour.
I mentioned in my race report to club particularly how your Marshalls were the equal of any, turning out in such conditions & encouraging us all while enduring the wind, cold & rain for hours, well done & thank you to them all. I encountered no issues with cars despite them clearly wishing to ignore the Marshalls in a few cases, or in following the designated route, well done again.
The finish line was unclear to me, & the lack of some kind of 'goody bag' a slight disapointment given that it was not the cheapest event by any means,I would have been proud to have T shirt (of any quality) & could have done with an energy bar or similar. Shame about the showers, shoot the caretaker. Only other gripe maybe my concern for security of my bag as travelling on my own I had to leave it on trust in the large (very good) hall, unattended.
Overall though I loved it & have recommended the event to my club albeit that it is a long trip for us. Good luck & I hope you do it next year in better conditions. Got club record so have a slightly biased opinion.
Well done & thank you
