2011 Hayling 10 results.
The Hayling 10 is a very fast, very flat 10 mile road race that winds its way around the roads at the southern tip of Hayling Island.
Starting in Bacon Lane, it winds its way through West Town, turning north into West Lane for a mile or so then turns south onto the old Hayling Billy railway line for a fast 1.5 miles of well made footpath. At around 4 miles the course returns to the roads where it heads for the water station at the Ferry Boat pub, then turns again, all the way along the sea front to Eastsoke, then back to the playing fields at Bacon Lane and the community centre for the finish and very possibilly your fastest 10 mile time of the year.
There is limited parking at the community centre, the race HQ, with further parking at the Hayling Billy Business Centre, just 5 minutes walk in Furniss Way, signposted off Station Road and over 500 spaces at Beachlands public carpark, just beyond the funfair, again, only a short walk to the start through either Green Lane or Stamford Ave to the community centre.
A map of the course is available to view or download, showing the parking locations, the water station and the mile markers, toilets are also available in various locations, in the community centre carpark, on the beach at Beachlands carpark and limited toilets in the centre itself. Refreshments are available from the community centre before and after the race.
